Hydrovane Air Solution

What the Air Solution Package Includes

Each Air Solution unit combines four components that are typically specified, purchased and installed separately:

  • Hydrovane rotary vane compressor – Hydrovane fixed speed compressors or Hydrovane regulated speed compressors operate at the low speed and low noise levels that are standard across the Hydrovane range.
  • Horizontal air receiver – for buffering demand peaks and providing storage to reduce compressor cycling.
  • Refrigerant dryer – removes moisture from the compressed air before it reaches your equipment, preventing corrosion in pipework and downstream tools.
  • Filtration pack – delivers clean, dry air at the outlet, with oil carry-over typically below 3 ppm.

These four components are designed to work together and are pre-matched at the factory. You do not need to size a dryer against the compressor output or specify a receiver for the flow rate. The installation requirement of this self contained compressor unit is an electrical connection and an airline connection.

Air Solution vs Specifying Components Separately

Specifying a compressed air system from individual components – compressor, receiver, dryer, filtration – gives you maximum flexibility but does require engineering time and introduces the risk of mismatched components. In addition, the dryer must be rated for the compressor’s maximum output flow rate, the receiver must be sized for the application’s demand profile, and the filtration must be matched to the downstream air quality requirements.

The Air Solution’s ‘plug and play compressor’ removes those specification decisions. For operations that do not have compressed air engineering resources in-house, or where the installation needs to happen quickly, a pre-packaged system is a practical answer. For applications with more complex requirements – higher flow rates, multiple compressors, specialised air quality standards – the team at Air Energy will be happy to spec a system from individual components.

Warranty and Service from Air Energy

Air Solution packages based on the Hydrovane 4 kW to 75 kW range carry the Advance 10 extended warranty – 10 years or 48,000 operating hours on the airend – subject to servicing by an authorised Hydrovane distributor using genuine parts

Air Energy is an authorised distributor and services the full Hydrovane range including Air Solution packages across Hertfordshire, Greater London, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

FAQs

What is included in a Hydrovane Air Solution?

A Hydrovane Air Solution is a fully packaged compressed air system comprising a Hydrovane rotary vane compressor, a horizontal air receiver, a refrigerant dryer and a filtration pack – all pre-assembled and matched at the factory. The unit is delivered ready to connect. Installation requires an electrical supply and an airline connection. No separate dryer sizing, receiver sizing or filtration specification is needed.

What is the difference between a Hydrovane Air Solution and a Hypac?

Both are Hydrovane-packaged systems. A Hypac typically combines the compressor with a receiver and, on some models, a dryer – it is the packaged format available on smaller HV models (HV04 to HV22). The Air Solution is the fully integrated package – compressor, receiver, dryer and filtration – designed as a complete self-contained compressed air station. So the Air Solution is the more complete option, whereas the Hypac is the simpler packaged configuration designed for smaller applications.

Where can a Hydrovane Air Solution be installed?

Hydrovane Air Solution units are designed for point-of-use installation. Because they are fully enclosed and the Hydrovane compressor operates at low noise levels, they do not require a dedicated compressor room and can be installed in a workshop, plant room, production floor or storage area. The enclosed format keeps the installation area clean and the noise level low. Air Energy will carry out a site survey to confirm the space and electrical requirements before installation.

Can I get a regulated speed Air Solution?

Yes. Hydrovane Air Solution packages are available in fixed speed and regulated speed configurations depending on the model. Regulated speed models in a packaged format deliver the same energy savings – up to 50% compared to fixed speed. If your demand varies through the day, a regulated speed Air Solution is worth considering. How often does a Hydrovane Air Solution need servicing?

The compressor element requires servicing at the manufacturer’s running hour intervals – typically every 2,000 to 4,000 hours for oil and filter changes. The refrigerant dryer and filtration elements also require periodic attention. Air Energy provides planned maintenance contracts for Air Solution packages, covering all components in a single contract visit. The Advance 10 warranty requires servicing by an authorised distributor using genuine parts.

What air quality does the Hydrovane Air Solution produce?

The Air Solution delivers clean, dry, pulse-free compressed air with oil carry-over typically below 3 ppm at the outlet. The integrated refrigerant dryer removes moisture. For applications requiring a specific air quality classification to ISO 8573-1, the filtration configuration can be reviewed at the point of specification. The team at Air Energy is happy to give you advice on the best Air Solution for your particular purity class.
